Backstory:
I was born in a middle-class family in Alwar. My father who was a popular English teacher and a school Principal and my mother, a disciplined housemaker, both left a strong impression on my value system and need for hard work in life. I left my job and decided to build a startup—Campus box which failed after a year of effort. Post that, I worked in tech startups – Shuttl, Snapdeal for next 7 years across roles including strategy, fund raise, supply, pricing, IR, and Chief of Staff. I had the privilege of working with some of the best people and learnt a lot about how you great products and companies are built.
In 2021, I finally decided to enter into Investing and joined Singularity where I am putting all my experiences, knowledge and network to practice. My intent here is to take high conviction, long term bets on bold founders and sunrise sectors. I thrive on friendships and deep relationships with people.
On the Lookout for:
I have been an entrepreneur before and part of the multiple startup journeys and hence, my first question to any founder is – ‘What is the problem statement you are trying to solve and how do customers address this currently?’. If the product can do this 3x better than any other solution which exists out there and still can make unit economics work in a sustainable manner, I would jump at it. I have immense respect for founders who built businesses in a bootstrapped or capital-efficient manner with gradually compounding and phased risk-taking. I think this is what differentiates a venture from a business. I drive all tech investments at Singularity spanning over consumer-tech, software / SaaS, deep-tech, and strategic industrials (defence, electronics, semicon).
